PATNA METRO PROJECT
Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) Whether Patna Metro Project was inaugurated in February, 2019 and construction works started;
(b) if so, the present status of the project;
(c) whether only one percent work is done and financial assistance is up to 3% through loan from Japan for this project during the last two years and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the details of funds sanctioned and expenditure incurred on the project so far?

(a) Yes, Sir.
(b) All preliminary works like Topographical Survey, Soil Investigation, Utility Investigation work, Traffic Volume Survey, Social Impact Assessment& Economic Impact Assessment and Land Plan Survey work have been completed. The priority corridor is of 6.60 km length (elevated) between ISBT to Malahipakri. Tenders for 2 packages have been awarded for priority sections. In addition, tender for depot have also been awarded.
(c) Yes, Sir. Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited has informed that physical progress of the work as on 30.06.2021 is 1%. Till date no loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency has been disbursed for Patna Metro Rail Project.
The funds to the tune of ‘{213 crores each from Government of India and Government of Bihar has been sanctioned and disbursed against equity for Patna Metro Rail Project so far. Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited has informed that an expenditure of ‘{258.24 crores has been incurred in this project till 30.06.2021.
