Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the salient features and objectives of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme along with the names of all the districts identified under the scheme;
(b) whether the aspirational districts as identified by NITI Aayog have been included under this scheme, if so, the details of achievements/progress made under the scheme so far in these districts, State/UT-wise including Rajasthan, Bihar and Maharashtra;
(c) the details of targets set, achievements/progress made under the scheme so far, State/UT-wise;
(d) the total funds allocated/ earmarked, released and utilized under the scheme since its inception; and
(e) the further measures taken by the Government for covering more districts in the country under this scheme?

(a) Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme aims to address declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and related issues of empowerment of girls and women over a life cycle continuum. The primary objectives of the scheme are, to prevent gender biased sex selective elimination, to ensure survival and protection of the girl child and to ensure education and participation of the girl child. The key elements of the scheme include nation-wide media and advocacy campaign and Multi-sectoral interventions in selected districts. List of Districts identified for Multi-sectoral interventions is at Annexure-I
(b) Out of 112 Aspirational districts identified by NITI Aayog, 51 districts are covered under BBBP scheme through Multi-sectoral intervention along with advocacy and Media campaign. As per the report of Health Management Information System (HMIS), data of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) for these 51 districts for year 2014-15 and 2019-20 is at Annexure II.
(c) BBBP aims to address the issues of declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR). CSR is calculated on decadal basis by Registrar General of India through Census. As per the report of Health Management Information System (HMIS), data of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) suggest an improving trend of 16 points at National level from 918 (2014-15) to 934 (2019- 20). The State/UT wise Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) data of 2014- 15 and 2019-20 is at Annexure-III. Percentage of 1st Trimester Ante-Natal Care (ANC) Registration has shown improvement from 61% in 2014-15 to 71.22% in 2019-20. As per 2018-19 provisional data of U-DISE of Ministry of Education, Enrollment of Girls in secondary education increased from 77.45% in 2014-15 to 81.32% in 2018-19.
