Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the convergence between the National Urban Livelihoods Mission – Scheme of Shelters for the Urban Homeless and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), especially with regard to moving towards permanent housing options for homeless persons, beyond shelters;
(b) the number of dwelling units which have been handed over to beneficiaries, as of date, under PMAY-Urban and PMAY-Gramin,
State/UT-wise; and
(c) the manner in which PMAY is being linked with the proposed affordable Rental Housing Complexes Scheme?
(SHRI KAUSHAL KISHORE)
(a) The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) is mandated to provide all weather pucca houses with basic amenities to all eligible urban households including urban homeless persons with the vision of Housing for All. The Scheme envisages convergence with all Central/State sponsored schemes including National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM). The States/UTs conducts demand survey so as to cover all households who meets the eligibility criteria as per the Scheme Guidelines.
(b) The State/UT-wise number of dwelling units which have been handed over to beneficiaries, as of date, under PMAY-Urban and PMAY-Gramin are at Annexure-I and Annexure-II respectively.
(c) The Scheme of Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) has been launched as a sub-scheme under PMAY-U. It complements the objectives of PMAY-U by providing rental houses under ARHCs.
