Child care allowance to Divyang women

Will the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government pays the child care allowance to Divyang women;
(b) if so, the amount of such allowance a long with the increase made i n the allowance during the last three years:
(c) the State-wise and year- wise details of funds allocated during t he last three years, including district-wise details with respect lo Rajasthan; and
(d) the quantum of consequential financial burden likely to occur upon Government exchequer?

Statement referred to in reply to part (a) to (d) of the Rajya Sabha Starred Question No. 101 raised by SHRI NEERAJ DANGI regarding “Child care allowance to Divyang women” for answer on 28.07.2021 .
(a) & (b) This Ministry does not implement any scheme for providing child care allowance to divyang women. However, Department or Personnel & Training (Do PT) has i n formed that divyang women (having disability or 40% or more) working in the Central Government are paid child care allowance @ Rs. 3000/- per month. Consequent upon implementation or the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission, the rate of child care allowance for divyang women employees has been increased from Rs. 1 500/- per month to Rs.3000/- per month with effect from 1st July. 2017. This allowance is payable from the time of the child’s birth till the child is two years old . The above mentioned allowance would automatically increase by 25% every time the Dearness Allowance on the revised pay structure goes up by 50%. This allowance is payable for a maximum for two eldest surviving children . It is applicable to divyang women employees working i n Central Government irrespective or their place or posting, including in Rajasthan.
