RECRUITMENT NOTICE FOR FACULTY POSITIONS
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is an Autonomous Organization under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. ICMR is dealing with biomedical I health research in various areas, in collaboration with national/ international agencies, through its Head Quarters at New Delhi and 27 Institutes/Centres and a large number of field stations, situated across the country.
2. ICMR invites online applications up to 30thJuly, 2021 till 5:30 PM to fill up the 15 vacancies (SC-2, ST-1, OBC-4, EWS-2 & UR-6) of Assistant Professor (Medical) at BMHRC, Bhopal in the Pay Level-11 Rs.67,700- Rs.2,08,700 (Pre-revised Grade pay-Rs 6600/-) from Indian Citizens for appointment on regular basis under Direct Recruitment with all India transfer liability under the Council in the following Departments:

Essential Qualifications:
(I) A recognized Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956);
(II) Post-graduate Degree in the speciality or super-speciality in the following courses, namely:-
- (A) Anaesthesia- Doctor of Medicine (Anaesthesiology); or Master of Surgery (Anaesthesiology);
- (B) (CTVS) – Magister Chirurguie (Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery) or Magister Chirurguie (Thoracic Surgery); or Magister Chirurguie (Cardio Surgery) or Magister Chirurguie (Vascular Surgery) ;
- (C) Gastro surgery- Magister Chirurguie (Surgical Gastroenterology); or Master of Surgery (Surgery) with two years special training in Surgical Gastroenterlogy;
- (D) Nephrology- Doctorate of Medicine (Nephrology);
- (E) Neurology- Doctorate of Medicine (Neurology) ;
- (F) Neurosurgery- Magister Chirurguie (Neuro-Surgery) ;
- (G) Pathology – Doctor of Medicine (Pathology) or Doctor of Philosophy (Pathology); or Doctor of Science (Pathology) ;
- (H) Psychiatry- Doctor of Medicine (Psychiatry) or Doctor of Medicine (Psychological Medicine) or Doctor of Medicine in Medicine with Diploma in Psychological Medicine or Diploma in Psychiatry (Edin) of two years course or Diploma in Psychiatry (Mc.Gill) University, Montreal, Canada of two years’ course;
- (I) Pulmonary Medicine- Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis) or Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases); or Doctor of Medicine (Medicine) with Diploma in Tuberculosis .Diseases or Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases or Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases) ;
- (J) Radiology- Doctor of Medicine (Radio-diagnosis) or Doctor of Medicine (Radiology) or Master of Surgery (Radiology) ;
- (K) Surgical Oncology- Magister Chirurguie (Surgical Oncology) or Master of Surgery or Master of Surgery (Ear, Nose, Throat) or Master of Surgery (Orthopaedics) or Doctor of Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) with two years special training in Surgical Oncology;
- (L) Urology- Magister Chirurguie (Urology); or
- (M) Cardiology- Doctorate of Medicine (Cardiology)
- (N) Gastro Medicine – Doctorate of Medicine (Medical Gastroenterology); or Doctorate of Medicine (Gastroenterology); or Doctor of Medicine (Medicine); or Doctor of Medicine (Pediatrics) with two years special training in Gastroenterology.
- (0) Ophthalmology- Master of Surgery (Ophthalmology) or Doctor of Medicine (Ophthalmology)
Experience
(Ill) At least three years’ teaching experience as Senior Resident or Tutor or Demonstrator or Registrar in the concerned specialty or super-specialty in a recognized teaching Institution, after obtaining the first postgraduate degree
Note 1: Holder of DNB qualification should submit an equivalent Certificate from NBE that his/her DNB qualification is equivalent to MD/MS or DM/MCh in terms of the Gazette notification No MCl12(2) / 2018-Med. Misc /142810 dated 31.10.2018 published on 01.11.2018.
Note 2: In the case of holders of Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.) or Magister of Chiruguie (M. Ch.) qualification of five years’ duration, the period of senior postgraduate residency rendered in the last part of the said Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.) or Magister of Chiruguie (M.Ch.) shall be counted towards requirement of teaching experience.
Note 3: Teaching experience in any other post like the post of General Duty Medical Officer or Medical Officer shall not be considered for eligibility purpose for recruitment to teaching posts.
Note 4: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the ICMR for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Note 5: The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the ICMR, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the ICMR is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
3. Fee:
Application Fee of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees one thousand five hundred only) is required. SC I ST I Women/ PWD/ EWS candidates are exempted from application fee. Application Fee is to be paid by candidates through online link given in the application form. Application fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
4. How to apply:
ii) Following self-attested documents are required to be uploaded along with the application: –
- a) Proof of Date of Birth
- b) Educational qualifications
- c) Experience
5. Other conditions:
(1) Application should be submitted along with online application fees. Application’s hard copy need not be sent to ICMR Hqrs.
(2) In the event of any false information furnished or suppression of any material in the application coming to notice, at any time during the recruitment process or thereafter of a person, his/her candidature/ services would be liable to be terminated.
(3) Incomplete Application without supportive documents is liable to be rejected.
(4) At the time of personal discussion, the applicants working in Centre I State Government Department I Public Sector Undertakings &. Govt. funded research agencies, must produce a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer that “the applicant will be relieved within one month of his I her receipt of appointment order”.
(5) Any outside influence (political or otherwise) brought in by a candidate or his/her family members, shall disqualify him I her.
(6) Any matter, for which no specific instruction has been given, shall be decided by ICMR and the decision shall be final and binding on the candidates.
(/) Any further detail I communication shall only be displayed on ICMR website. Candidates are requested to regularly visit ICMR Website, for any updates.
(8) Any dispute with regard to the recruitment against the advertisement will be under the jurisdiction of New Delhi Court.
(9) Short listing Criteria:-
- a) The short listing is based on criteria fixed by ICMR.
- b) In the first instance, all the candidates who fulfill minimum eligibility in respect of age, educational qualifications and experience (wherever required) shall be short-listed.
- c) If the number of such shortlisted candidates are high and it is not possible to call all of them for interview, then the ICMR shall further shortlist the candidates, on the basis of some suitable short listing criteria, as may be fixed by the appointing authority i.e. DG, ICMR. Though this may vary from case to case, depending on merits, ICMR generally prefers to call candidates with higher experience in the relevant fields or candidates with higher educational qualification as the case may be.
Note: The purpose of short listing candidates is to restrict, to a reasonable limit, the number of candidates to be called for interview, keeping in view the number of vacancies available at a time, the number of candidates satisfying the Essential Qualifications and other conditions prescribed. In order to rationalize the time of the interview Boards and also to reasonably restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview, a set of norms have been adopted with the approval of the Competent Authority, which are indicated below:
