Good news for the drivers of Karnataka. Recently, the Karnataka Government has announced Rs. 1610 Crore relief package. This package includes a special scheme for Auto/Taxi/Maxi Cab Drivers of the state. As per the announcement under the Karnataka Driver Scheme, Rs. 3000 compensation will be given to the drivers.
The Karnataka government in a recent relief package (on 19th May 2021), announced Rs. 3000 financial assistance to Auto, Taxi & Cab drivers. The same amount will be given to registered construction workers of the state.
Shri B.S. Yediyurappa, Chief Minister of Karnataka on 19th May 2021, made various announcements for the benefit of needy people in the state. One announcement was regarding the financial aid of Auto Rickshaw, Taxi & Cab Drivers of the state. He announced that one-time compensation of Rs. 5000 will be given to registered Auto Rickshaw, taxi, or Cab Drivers of the state.
This announcement is going to benefit over 210 Lakh Auto Rickshaw & Taxi drivers of the state.
This announcement during the Corona Pandemic has brought some relief to the drivers who have no work during this time. Such people are unable to earn in such time and going through a tough period. This step by the Yediyurappa government is worth appreciating.
