Vacancies in Central Universities

Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) the category-wise number of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors in Central Universities;
(b) the category-wise number of backlog vacancies of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors in Central Universities;
(c) the post and category-wise details of teacher candidates found ‘not found suitable’ by selection committees of all Central Universities and colleges of the country;
(d) whether reservation roster is being displayed on the websites of Universities; and
(e) whether irregularities have been found in various colleges of University of Delhi including Central Universities of the country in roster register related to reservation?

(a) The category-wise details of sanctioned posts of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors in Central Universities (CUs) under purview of Ministry of Education are given at Annexure-I.
(b) The category-wise details of backlog vacancies of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors in Central Universities (CUs) under purview of Ministry of Education are given at Annexure-II.
(c) The details of teacher candidates found ‘not found suitable’ by selection committees of all Central Universities and colleges of the country are not maintained centrally.
(d) & (e) University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued instructions from time to time to all Universities including Central Universities to display the reservation roster, to be updated at regular intervals, on their web-sites as per instructions issued by the Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training.
The Central Universities are autonomous bodies established by the Acts of the Parliament and are governed by their respective Acts and the Statutes and the Ordinances framed thereunder. It is responsibility of Central University to comply with the provisions of “Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019” as amended from time to time and instructions/ guidelines issues by Central Government/ UGC under the provisions of this Act.
