Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state

(a) the AYUSH schemes/programmes currently being implemented by the Government across the country including Haryana, Assam and other North Eastern States, State-wise and stream-wise;

(b) the funds allocated/financial assistance extended for the implementation of the said schemes during the last three years, State/UT-wise and year-wise;

(c) the targets set for these Centrally Sponsored Schemes along with the success achieved in the implementation of these schemes;

(d) whether these schemes are being operationalised/ implemented within the prescribed time schedule; and

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 255 FOR 12TH MARCH, 2021

SCHEMES UNDER AYUSH
(a) Government of India had approved and notified Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) on 29.09.2014 during 12th Plan which envisages better access to AYUSH services, strengthening of AYUSH educational Institutions, enforcement of quality control of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani & Homoeopathy (ASU & H) drugs and sustainable availability of ASU & H raw – materials in the States / UTs. The Scheme is being implemented since, 2014 through State/UT Governments across the Country including Haryana, Assam and other North Eastern States for development and promotion of AYUSH System.
(b) The funds allocated/financial assistance extended for the implementation Centrally Sponsored scheme of the National AYUSH Mission NAM during the last three years, State/UT-wise and year-wise is enclosed as Annexure I.

(c) Under NAM, Grant-in-aid is being provided to State/UT Governments for development and promotion of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) as per their proposed State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs). Specific resource pool with respect to NAM for each State/UT Government is allocated by the Central Government. Accordingly, the State/UT Governments submit their State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) to the Ministry as per their felt need in accordance with NAM guidelines. Since NAM is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme and implementation of the programme comes under the purview of respective States/UT Government, no specific targets has been fixed by Government of India in the States/UTs. However, as per the SAAPs submitted by the State/UT Governments, Ministry of AYUSH have released grant-in-aid for various activities under the mission. Accordingly, the major achievements made under NAM is furnished at Annexure II.

(d) & (e) Yes. The Centrally Sponsored Scheme of NAM is being operationalised/implemented within the prescribed time Schedule.

Annexure II
Major achievements made under NAM

Under NAM, grant-in-aid of Rs. 2601.25 crore has been released to State/UT Governments from the year 2014-15 to 2020-2021(as on date) and the Major achievements are as per the following details:
(I) Total 101 upto 50 bedded Integrated AYUSH hospitals in different States/UTs have been supported
(II) Total 294 AYUSH Hospitals and 4713 AYUSH dispensaries have been supported for Up-gradation.
(III) Grant in aid has been provided for establishment of 11 New AYUSH Educational Institutions.
(IV) Total 72 Under-Graduate and 33 Post-Graduate AYUSH Educational Institutes have been supported for Upgradation.
(V) 33 ASU & H Pharmacies and 29 Drug Testing Laboratories have been supported for strengthening.
(VI) 4436 AYUSH Health & Wellness Centers (AYUSH HWCs) have been supported from the year 2019-20 till date.
(VII) 56396 hectare of area has been supported for cultivation of Medicinal Plants.
