Price of LPG Cylinder

Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government is aware about the consistently increasing price of LPG cylinder in the country during the last three months;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the reasons therefor; and

(d) the action being taken by the Government to contain the price of LPG cylinder in the interest of the common people?

(a) to (d): A statement is laid on the Table of the House.

Statement referred to in reply to parts (a) to (d) of Lok Sabha Starred Question No. 196 asked by Dr. Kalanidhi Veeraswamy to be answered on 8th March, 2021 regarding “Price of LPG Cylinder”.

(a) to (d): The prices of petroleum products in the country are linked to the price of respective products in the international market. However, the Government continues to modulate the effective price to consumer for Subsidized Domestic LPG.

The subsidy on the product increases/ decreases with the increase/ decrease in the product price in international market and decision of Government on subsidy. The detail of prices of 14.2 kg LPG cylinders (non- subsidized) since December, 2020 at Delhi is as under:
