Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana Number of People Benefitted

Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana 

Will the Minister of MINES be pleased to state:

(a) the number of people benefitted so far under Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKY) along with the State-wise details thereof;

(b) whether  the  silicosis-affected  mine  workers  and  their  families  have  been included under the said scheme; and

(c) if so, the total number of mine workers benefitted so far under the said scheme along with the State-wise details thereof?

(a): Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojna (PMKKKY) guidelines were circulated on 16.09.2015 by the Union Government with directions to State Governments to incorporate the same into the rules  framed  by  them  from DMF. Details of beneficiaries is not maintained centrally. However, data on beneficiaries as received from some States is given in Annexure.

(b) & (c): Section 9B of the MMDR Amendment Act, 2015 empowers the State Governments to make rules for composition and functions of District Mineral Foundation. Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh has included silicosis-affected mine workers and their families under the scheme. As per information received, 13,666 silicosis affected mining workers in Rajasthan have been benefitted from the scheme.
