Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the number of new houses constructed in urban areas between 2018-20 to fulfil the Prime Minister’s mission ‘Housing for All’;
(b) the target of new houses in urban areas by 2022;
(c) the number of people living in inadequate houses and slum households physically; and
(d) the share of Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, Low Income Group (LIG), non-BPL households who earn (monthly income 10,000 to 25,000 rupees), MIG (monthly income 25,000 to 50,000) and HIG (mostly income 50,000 rupees plus) in overall urban house shortage?

(a) to (c): In pursuance of Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Housing for All’ by 2022, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) since 25.06.2015 for providing assistance to States/ Union Territories (UTs) for addressing the housing shortage of the people belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Low Income Group (LIG) and Middle Income Group (MIG) categories in urban areas. States/ UTs have undertaken demand survey under the scheme for assessing actual demand of housing and assessed demand reported by States/ UTs is around 112 lakhs, that includes the people living in inadequate houses and slum households.
So far total of 1.1 crore houses have been sanctioned under PMAY-U; out of which, 73.6 lakh houses are at various stages of construction and 43.2 lakh are completed/ delivered. Out of 43.2 lakh completed houses, 36.3 lakh houses have been completed during 2018-20.

(d): Out of the 1.1 crore sanctioned houses, 99.2 lakh houses have been sanctioned for the beneficiaries belonging to EWS (annual household income upto ₹3,00,000/-), 6.1 lakh houses for LIG (annual household income from ₹3,00,001/- to ₹6,00,000/-), 4.5 lakh houses for MIG-I (annual household income from ₹6,00,001/- to ₹12,00,000/-) and 0.9 lakh houses for MIG-II (annual household income from ₹12,00,001/- to ₹18,00,000/-) categories.
