CHANGES IN EXAMINATION PROCESS

Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:
(a) whether the students and the teachers across the country are in distress due to the recruitment examination policies of SSC and Indian Railway;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government proposes to introduce any major changes in the process of examination for recruitment for Government jobs; and

(a) & (b): No, Sir.
(c) & (d): In order to provide the same test platform to all candidates at the nearest District HQ, particularly those in rural areas/Aspirational Districts, and with a view to set a new standard of equity and inclusiveness in recruitments, Government has set up the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) vide order dated 28.08.2020.
NRA will conduct Common Eligibility Test (CET) to screen/shortlist candidates for jobs in Government sector for which recruitment is carried out through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).
NRA is likely to commence CET in 2021.
