SCHEMES FOR WOMEN IN MSME SECTOR

Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:

Schemes for Women

(a) whether the Government has started any scheme for women engaged in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector especially in rural and backward areas of the country including Rajasthan;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of funds allocated and spent for this purpose during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT and rural/urban area-wise;

(d) whether the Government has determined categorise of enterprises for which these schemes would be implemented; and

(SHRI NITIN GADKARI)

(a) to (e): The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has not started any schemes exclusively for women engaged in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector .
However, the Ministry is implementing Mahila Coir Yojana, which is an exclusive training programme aimed at skill development of women artisans engaged in the Coir industry, in coir producing States of the country.

The Ministry of MSME implements several schemes for promotion and development of MSMEs, including women owned MSMEs all over the country, including Rajasthan, namely, Prime Ministers’ Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP), Tool Rooms & Technology Centres, Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI), Procurement and Marketing Support Scheme, Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP), Credit Linked Capital Subsidy and Technology Upgradation Scheme (CLCS-TUS) etc.

The State-wise and year-wise details of fund allocation and utilization under the Mahila Coir Yojana and State-wise, year wise details of number of units assisted and margin money disbursed under Prime Ministers’ Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) are given in Annexure I and Annexure II respectively.
