Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) the steps taken for implementation of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme in Maharashtra till date;

(b) the details of the cities of Maharashtra selected for AMRUT scheme;

(c) the details of Detailed Project Report (DPR)  and  fund allocation for implementation of AMRUT scheme in Maharashtra; and

(d) the progress of AMRUT scheme and the time frame for completion of projects under AMRUT scheme in Maharashtra?

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY
OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS

(a). Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), was launched on 25 June 2015 in 500 selected cities of the country including 44 cities of the State of Maharashtra. The

Mission period has been extended up to 31 March 2021. Government of India has already approved State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs)of State of Maharashtra amounting to ₹7,759.32 crore for the entire Mission, which include committed Central Assistance of ₹3,534.08 crore. As on date, Central Assistance amounting to ₹2,776.25 crore has been released to the Government of Maharashtra for implementation of projects under the Mission.

(b). List of 44 cities of Maharashtra covered under AMRUT has been attached as ANNEXURE.

(c) & (d). As on date, State of Maharashtra has taken up 196 projects under AMRUT costing ₹7,825.66 crore, of which, 133 projects costing ₹787.83 crore have been completed, 63 projects costing ₹7,037.83 crore are under implementation. State of Maharashtra has taken up projects  in excess  of their approved SAAP size and the entire excess cost shall be borne by the State Government.
