ANGANWADI CENTRES UNDER MGNREGA
2279. SHRI SANTOSH PANDEY:
Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the number of approved Anaganwadi Centres in Chhattisgarh which are currently operational in rental premises along with the details thereof, district-wise;
(b) whether the Government proposes to include construction work of Anganwadi centres under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?
ANSWER

(a) As on 30th June, 2020, against 52,474 sanctioned Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) in the State of Chhattisgarh, 51,462 AWCs are operational out of which 9,829 AWCs are running in rented premises. District-wise number of AWCs running from rented premise as uploaded at ICDS-RRS portal by Chhattisgarh, is annexed.
(b) to (d) Joint guidelines for construction of 2 lakh Anganwadi Centre (AWC) buildings in most backward districts of 11 States (Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh) by 2019, under MGNREGS in convergence with ICDS Scheme have been jointly issued by Ministry of Rural Development and Ministry of Women and Child Development..
