कैबिनेट के इस फैसले के बाद प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, सभी कैबिनेट मंत्रियों और राज्यमंत्रियों के वेतन में 30 फीसदी की कटौती हो जाएगी. इसके अलावा राष्ट्रपति, उपराष्ट्रपति और राज्यपाल भी एक साल तक अपनी सैलरी 30 फीसदी कम लेंगे. राष्ट्रपति, उपराष्ट्रपति और राज्यपालों ने ये फैसला स्वैच्छिक रूप से लिया है. इस रकम का इस्तेमाल कोरोना वायरस के खिलाफ जंग में किया जाएगा.

कोरोना वायरस के खिलाफ जंग में नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार ने बड़ा फैसला लिया है. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में हुई बैठक में आज दो फैसले लिए गए. पहले फैसले के मुताबिक सभी सांसदों की सैलरी में एक साल के लिए 30 फीसदी कटौती की गई है. दूसरे फैसले के अनुसार दो साल के लिए MPLAD फंड को खत्म कर दिया गया है. इस फंड का इस्तेमाल कोरोना वायरस से लड़ने में किया जाएगा.

एक साल के लिए सैलरी में 30 फीसदी की कटौती

कैबिनेट के फैसले की जानकारी देते हुए केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने कहा कि एक साल तक सभी सांसदों की सैलरी में 30 फीसदी की कटौती करने का फैसला किया है. सांसदों की इस सैलरी का इस्तेमाल कोरोना वायरस से लड़ने के लिए किया जाएगा.

कैबिनेट के इस फैसले के बाद प्रधानमंत्री, सभी कैबिनेट मंत्रियों और राज्यमंत्रियों के वेतन में 30 फीसदी की कटौती हो जाएगी.

इस बाबत केंद्र सरकार आज अध्यादेश जारी करेगी. इसके अलावा राष्ट्रपति, उपराष्ट्रपति और राज्यपाल भी एक साल तक अपनी सैलरी 30 फीसदी कम लेंगे. राष्ट्रपति, उपराष्ट्रपति और राज्यपालों ने ये फैसला स्वैच्छिक रूप से लिया है.

2 साल के लिए MPLAD फंड खत्म

केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने कहा कि कैबिनेट में सांसदों के सांसद लोकल एरिया डेवलपमेंट फंड (MPLAD) को 2 साल के लिए खत्म करने पर सहमति बनी. साल 2020-21 और 2021-22 के लिए लोकल एरिया डेवलपमेंट फंड को 2 साल के खत्म किया जाएगा.

बता दें कि लोकसभा और राज्यसभा के हर सांसद को अपने क्षेत्र के विकास के लिए हर साल 5 करोड़ रुपये सरकार से मिलते हैं. इसे MPLAD फंड कहा जाता है. 2 साल के लिए इस फंड को हटाने पर सरकार के पास 7900 करोड़ रुपये आएंगे. ये पैसा भारत सरकार के Consolidated Fund में जाएगा. इस रकम का इस्तेमाल कोरोना से लड़ने में किया जाएगा.

The Union cabinet on Monday approved an ordinance to cut the salaries of members of parliament (MPs) by 30 percent for a year, Union minister Prakash Javadekar has said.

The decision has been made in view of the country’s fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The cabinet has approved the ordinance amending the Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members of Parliament Act, 1954, reducing allowances and pension by 30 percent with effect form April 1, 2020 for a year.

Further, the president, vice-president and state governors have also expressed a willingness to take a salary cut of 30 percent, Javadekar said.

The government has also suspended the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme, or MPLAD funds, for a period of two years. Rs 10 crore from each MPLAD fund will now go to the Consolidated Fund of India. The overall amount for the consolidated fund adds up to Rs 7,900 crore.

The period for MPLAD fund diversion to the Consolidated Fund of India applies for FY21 and FY22.

The PMLADS funds are used to take up developmental work in an MP’s constituency.

The decisions come a day after the country answered Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to observe a nine-minute switch-off at 9 pm on Sunday in a unique attempt to fight coronavirus.
