Will the Minister of MINORITY AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) the details of scholarships given to minority communities by the Ministry under pre-matric, post-matric and merit-cum-means during the last three years, community-wise;

(b) whether the Government allows SC/ST communities to avail post-matric scholarships while joining courses under the management quota in self financing educational institutions and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) the number of students belonging to minority community given scholarship to ensure that they get education without any hurdles during the last six years;and

(d) the details of scholarship amount given to the students and the dates on which it was increased?

(a): The details of  Pre-Matric, Post Matric and Merit-cum-Means scholarships given to minority communities by the Ministry of Minority Affairs during the last three years, community-wise, are as follows:

(b) Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has stated that students admitted under management quota are not eligible for benefits under Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes for SCs. In so far as, ST students are concerned, Ministry of Tribal Affairs has stated that Scholarship is given for the study of all recognized Post Matriculation Post secondary course pursued in recognized institutions with the following exceptions:-

Scholarships are not awarded for training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Courses and Private Pilot License courses, course at Training- Ship Duffering (Now Rajendra), course of training at the Military College, Dehradun and courses at pre-examination training centers of all India and Star Levels.”

(c) & (d)  The number of students belonging to minority communities given scholarship and the amount sanctioned/released during the last six years are as follows:

The rates of Scholarships under all three Scholarship schemes for Minorities have remained same during the aforesaid years.
