Will the Minister of CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य एवं सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री be pleased to state:

• (a) the details of the procurement, allocation/sale and surplus/unsold stock of wheat and rice in the country during each of the last three years and the current year;

• (b) whether the foodgrains were imported or exported during the said period; and

• (c) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor indicating the quantum and the import and export prices of the said foodgrains?

(a) The procurement of Rice and Wheat by Government Agencies at Minimum

Support Price (MSP) for Central Pool during last three years and current year is as under:

Details of stock position of wheat and rice in the Central Pool vis a vis foodgrains stocking norms during the year 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 (upto 1st October) is at Annexure. 

(a) & (c): There was no import/export of wheat and rice from Central Pool during the last three years and current year except 19,980 MT of parboiled rice exported to Egypt in August, 2016 at friendship price of US$ 305 per MT (CIF) through State Trading Corporation (STC) on Government to Government basis on diplomatic grounds.
