Union Minister of Textiles flagging of Unity March in Gurugram today
Union Minister of Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani, unveiled the Fabric of Unity on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Gurugram today. The Minister also flagged off Unity March. Smriti Zubin Iraniadministered the Unity Pledge to the office bearers, staff of Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) and students of Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC).
Smriti Zubin Iraniexhorted the AEPC to spread the concept of fabric of unity in its offices which will be a real tribute toSardarVallabhbhai Patel. The Minister urged the AEPC to put together the entire history and the textile designs of the then Princely States which were united into the Indian Union by Sardar Patel.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister referred to Rs. 6000 crore package launched by the Government of India in 2016 for the growth of apparel and garment sector to bring in more skilled labour in the organized sector.

केंद्रीय कपड़ा मंत्री स्मृति जुबिन ईरानी ने आज गुरूग्राम में सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल की जयंती के अवसर पर फैब्रिक ऑफ यूनिटी का अनावरण किया। मंत्री ने इस अवसर पर यूनिटी मार्च को झंडी दिखाकर रवाना भी किया। श्रीमती स्मृति जुबिन ईरानी ने परिधान निर्यात संवर्धन परिषद (एईपीसी) के कार्यालय पदाधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों तथा अपरेल ट्रेनिंग और डिजाइन सेंटर (एटीडीसी) के विद्यार्थियों को राष्ट्रीय एकता की शपथ दिलायी।
कपड़ा मंत्री ने परिधान निर्यात संवर्धन परिषद (एईपीसी) का आह्वान किया कि वह अपने कार्यालयों में यूनिटी ऑफ फैब्रिक की धारणा का प्रसार करे, जो सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल के प्रति सच्ची श्रद्धांजलि होगी। श्रीमती ईरानी ने एईपीसी से कहा की वह सरदार पटेल द्वारा भारतीय संघ में शामिल किये गए तत्कालीन रजवाड़ों के समूचे इतिहास और वस्त्र डिजाइनों को एक साथ प्रदर्शित करें।
इस अवसर पर मंत्री ने अधिक संख्या में कुशल श्रमिकों को संगठित क्षेत्र मे लाने के लिए वस्त्र और परिधान क्षेत्र के विकास के वास्ते भारत सरकार द्वारा 2016 में दिये गए 6000 करोड़ रूपए के पैकेज की चर्चा की।
